The beauty of a custom-made rug or carpet is colour is entirely dictated by you. We colour match precisely to paint, fabric swatches, artwork or accessories as required, selecting from over 5,000 colours to ensure the match is exact.
We guide you to ensure the colour palette selected sits tonally and that the colours ‘speak’ to each other within the design.
The hardest part can be selecting entirely the right ground – it may seem straightforward, but this is one of the most important selections to make. If a ground colour is the wrong shade, the whole composition can be compromised. Ensuring the colours compliment your scheme and importantly sit together within the context of the design is essential.
This is particularly important when the background is a neutral and where there is a large expanse of a given shade, for instance in STREAMER or ATTTITUDE.
In this version of STREAMER Deirdre has selected a grey ground that has a blue undertone which connects with the vibrant blues of the bespoke silk ribbons. A grey with yellow or red tone just would not work in this context.
That said, some of Deirdre Dyson’s most successful designs celebrate a clash of colours – take GLASS CUBES where the brashest neon oranges and greens sit on a chocolate brown wool and work together to create a 3D effect.
Similarly in LIGHT BETWEEN bands of vibrant neon silk overlay graduated monochrome panels.
In SLIDES globules of graded jewel colours, blues, purple and jade green, work together in a pleasing juxtaposition.
In Deirdre’s Graduation collection, the joyful use of colour is celebrated in perfect grades from the vibrant purple to pink of HELIOTROPE, the green to gold of CASSATA and the aquamarine to gold of TOPAZ. Each explores the celebration of opposing colours uniting to create the perfect whole.
